This page explains which cookies stackrecipes.com uses and how you can control them. It complements our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a site asks your browser to store. It lets the site remember something between page loads — that you are logged in, for example, or that you already filled in a form field.
Cookies we set
Strictly necessary
WordPress sets session and authentication cookies (names beginning with wordpress_ and wp-settings-) when someone logs in to the administration area. If you are only reading the site and never log in, these are not set for you.
Comment convenience
If you leave a comment, WordPress offers to save your name, email address and website in cookies (comment_author_*) so that you do not have to type them again next time. These are only set if you tick the box, and they expire after one year.
Advertising
This site is supported by advertising served by Google and its partners. Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or to other websites, and to measure how those ads perform.
These cookies are set on the advertising vendor’s own domain and are governed by that vendor’s policy, not ours. Google’s is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
You can turn off personalised advertising from Google at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a wider set of vendors at aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.com. Opting out does not remove advertising; it makes it non-personalised.
Analytics
We do not currently run analytics cookies of our own. If that changes, this page will be updated before the change goes live.
Consent
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before setting any cookie that is not strictly necessary. Nothing beyond the essential cookies is set until you choose. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the site footer, and your choice is remembered on this device.
Third-party cookies
When you click an affiliate link, the merchant you land on may set its own cookie so that a later purchase is attributed to us. That cookie is set on the merchant’s domain, is governed by their policy, and is outside our control. Embedded content from other sites (for example a video player) behaves exactly as if you had visited that other site directly, and may set its own cookies too.
How to control cookies
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies from its settings — usually under “Privacy” or “Site data”. You can block everything, or block only third-party cookies. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will prevent you from logging in, but reading the site will still work normally.
Changes
If we start using new cookies we will update this page and change the date at the top.
